Hey, Joe:

Maintenance is a replacement of the carbon filter every 3 months (Amazon has them at $28 for 4) and the HEPA filter ($65) annually. As far as that's concerned, it's on the expensive side, but given my level of allergies I'll happily pay $100 per year to keep the air in my house that clean. When I move out of my apartment and into a house the methodology for air filtration will likely change (though it will likely simply be improved by the addition of a whole-house filter).

Awesome. I got an air purifier about a year ago and like it quite a bit. I don't have any allergies, so I just have a fairly small one and leave it in my bedroom (where I do the majority of my breathing around the house). It has been pretty good so far.

On yours, what kind of maintenance do you have to do? Each month I have to clean out my filters. It's not that bad, but it's a bit of a hassle (and it makes sense why I'd have to do it too).
