(I’m sure there’s more than one psychological study waiting to happen right there.) This is episode 13 (my favorite number), which I’ve dubbed “The Sci-Fi Edition,” since it features links for sci-fi and links for stuff that might have been sci-fi. I meant that Indian culture has been making its way into American culture since the 60′s. (Think Beatles + Ravi Shankar.)

Indian music has been making a huge mark on pop culture here.

Not to mention popularity for indian food is one of the higest its been in a while.

The market for it is rapidly increasing.

Japanese – Yes. Chinese – I think it has to do more with the fact that they manufacture everything. Indian – Uhm… please see the 60′s and 70′s. Tech markets don’t usually spawn pop culture. (For the exeption of Steve Jobs.)

Basically, “Japanese Teen Girl Watch” is a small column which spots some of the trends Japanese teen girls are moving towards. As it turns out, that particular population has been used as a predictor of off-the-wall pop culture for a few years now, since it often seems like that population’s trends tend to spread and take root in other places.

Are you implying that the galactic empire eventually results from the japanese empire or should it be the otherwat around.

Not the Japanese Empire, just Japanese teenie-boppers. (Read Wired Magazine’s “Japanese Teen Girl Watch” to know what I’m talking about.)

You know when they turned Anakin into Vader, i almost expexcted the lines from million dollar man.

‘we can make him strong, better. faster, we have the technology’ and all that jazz

Or the song ‘better harder stronger faster’ from Daft Punk. (The occasional techno song is ok)

Hey, you can’t fault a guy for loving his work as part of the Empire so much that he spends time outside of work figuring out how things can improve. Were that all galactic dark lords were like him. The Borg Queen could learn a thing or two from Vader.
