If You Are in NYC, Go Listen to Some Amazing Music Tonight

I know this is late, and I meant to post it yesterday, but if you are in NYC tonight and aren’t doing anything you can’t cancel, go check out some amazing music. I got this from Javier Caballero, an amazing cellist I had the pleasure of working with while at USF. Here’s his message of announcement:

Dear friends,

This coming Tuesday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m. I am performing in NYC with the Tami Machnai Ensemble at ‘Makor.’

‘Makor’ is located at 35 West 67th St. (between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue, near Lincoln Center. For more info: www.tamimachnai.com/shows.html)

This is a really cool ethnic ensemble that plays a combination of western and Middle- Eastern music sung in Hebrew, Ladino and English. Some songs are also influenced by flamenco music from Spain, tango from Argentina, and even some American alternative rock.

If you are in NY, you should definitely check it out if you can and let me know if you are coming. Or, feel free to forward this email to your friends and family. Especially with all that is happening currently in the Middle East, this might be a good way to momentarily forget about all conflicts, and instead concentrate on the great things that happen when different cultures coexist with one another.

Gracias!
Javier
