Run, Saga, Run

I’m not one much for comics. Sure, I like them, but ironically enough I usually find myself quickly running out of patience with most of them. The ones I stick around for tend to have one of two qualities. First, they have a spectacular story line. Second, they have spectacular art. Rare is the jewel which has both, at least to my taste. Le Linkage #1

I found a couple of pretty interesting links today, some on my own and some sent to me. I figured I’d share. Good stuff, even they don’t end up on the Links page.

######

Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter 2: Nice little flash movie where Ryu and Scorpion duke it out. Awesome fighting scenes, including 14-hit combos, fatalities, and a surprise ending. (Thanks to Trapp for this link.)

######

BlogMaverick: Success & Motivation – Redux: Mark Cuban, owner of the NBA Dallas Mavericks, the IceRocket search engine, and entrepreneur extraordinaire shares a few of his favorite stories outlining how he got to where he is today. A lot of gold nuggets for anyone who dreams (and doesn’t just wish) about owning a business and becoming mega-wealthy.

######

Yet Another Flash Game: This game is quite possibly one of the strangest games I’ve ever played. You’re this guy, living in an asteroid and (I guess) you’re trying to stop another asteroid from crashing into yours. Pretty addictive, if you have the patience. (I can get to about the 7th board before my eyes start bleeding.) Someone had to be on something when they wrote this.

######

Sock Master’s Video Game Controller Family Tree: How did the current home-console controllers come to be? How have they evolved? You may have noticed some similarities between the current generation controllers, or between them and the previous generations of controllers. So, how do they all tie together? Here’s how.

######

Australian Antarctic Division Picture Gallery: Think you got it bad with the snow? Try having to go into the freezer to warm yourself. Still, awesome pictures of the ice shelf down under from The Land Down Under.

Wapsi Square: Review

Recently, I happened to stumble upon the online comic, Wapsi Square. At first, I saw it referenced in a thread on a forum site somewhere. I didn’t pay much attention to it then because it didn’t exactly catch my eye. It didn’t seem funny, and based on what I saw then, this was a comic getting most of its jokes from boob-related themes.

My second exposure came when I was looking for pics of Elita Loresca for the Does God Hate Florida or Something story. While looking, I stumbled upon this forum thread, which referenced Loresca’s apparent resemblance to the comic’s main character, Monica.

Ok, I thought. I’ll bite. If it had as many fans as it seemed from this forum, maybe there was something I was missing. (Hint: I was.) Continue reading ‘Wapsi Square: Review’

The Belief-O-Matic

Given the fact that I’ve been hanging out at Beliefnet a lot lately, and my adoration for pigeon-hole personality tests that cram you into some character or character type, it should come as no surprise that I’ve discovered the Beliefnet Belief-O-Matic. This test asks you a bunch of belief-related questions, and based on your answers, it tells you what religion(s) you’re most compatible with. Obviously, this test isn’t an “end-all, be-all”, but I’ve found it to be pretty enlightening, since it isn’t too far off the mark. (The questions are somewhat general which, to the dismay of many Christians and Muslims, means that religions are treated as “comparatively equal”, or that they’re all equally (in)valid in their historical facts, and that which matters most is the overall belief system or practices.)

Anyway, so I took the test and here are my results…
