Today’s big news: Gruden fired. From Sports Illustrated: “In a stunning development that no one in the NFL expected, the Tampa Bay Buccanneers fired Super Bowl-winning coach Jon Gruden late Friday afternoon” From Fox Sports: “The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have fired coach Jon Gruden and Bucs sources told FOXSports.com that defensive coordinator Raheem Morris has [...]

So Wait… USF is Ranked WHAT?!

First, a warning: This article isn’t about writing, or finances, or personal development, so if you’re here only to read that kind of article, you can skip this. This article’s about college football, and trying to figure out what the hell is going on this year. In short, I’m starting to wonder about the increasingly [...]

You heard it here first, second, or sometime thereafter: The Indianapolis Colts, under the coaching of Tony Dungy, have won Super Bowl XLI (41, for you non-Latin speakers). Suck it, Glazer.

Bye bye, Booger

McFarland tossed off Bucs’ ship, traded to Colts for a 2nd round pick in ’07. With the way the defense’s been acting, I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. I don’t like it, but what do I know? I’m still wondering about what happened to the Cardinals.

Arizona Cardinals Choke. Badly.

Posted on 17 October 2006 by Gnorb || Comments: 1 || Topic(s): Sports.

How you blow a 20-point lead in the 4th quarter (ok, and in the last few seconds of the 3rd) to lose 24-23, I have no idea, but that’s exactly what happened last night when the Bears played the Cardinals. End of the 3rd, Cards are up 23-3. Fifteen minutes and three defensive tuchdowns later, [...]

In June of 2006 that would be sports. Lots of ‘em. Basketball: The NBA Finals Here in South Florida, it’s hard not to get at least somewhat excited about basketball these days, even if you’re not a fan. The Heat are in the finals and it’s hard not to pay attention, especially when every news [...]

The Olympics End, But There’s Hope

Posted on 26 February 2006 by Gnorb || Comments: 2 || Topic(s): Sports.

There’s nothing I hate watching more than the closing ceremony at the Olympics. Not because it’s bad, but because it seems so… final. It’s like this grand event towards which entire existences are dedicated has come to and and to fill the void theres… nothing. Frankly, I hate that feeling. I hated tonight, hated watching [...]

Tampa Bay [Insert Baseball Team Name Here]

Posted on 18 January 2006 by Gnorb || Comments: 4 || Topic(s): Sports.

A small controversy has started to brew down in Saint Petersburg involving the name of the now legendarily and hellishly bad Tampa Bay Devil Rays. The Rays are going through a number of changes meant at bringing up the abhorrently low attendance numbers. Instead of looking for a solution in areas such as “sucking less” [...]

Just Three Points

Posted on 28 November 2005 by Gnorb || Comments: 0 || Topic(s): Sports.

Regarding yesterday’s game against the Bears, I think Ski’s BestBucsBlog says it best. You’re dead to me Matt Bryant. Mind you, I’m not about to kill the guy, but he did kinda give that game to the Bears. *sigh* 13-10 Bears over the Bucs. (Mind you, my money was on the Bears, but that’s beside [...]
