New Section: Bible Study (Edit: Theology and Philosphy)
Topic(s): Gnorb.NET Updates. It’s 4 o’clock in the morning on December 31, 2004. I’ve been playing with this site for about four hours. It’s looking a lot less generic than before, but still way plain — which is good. When I was working with Mambo CMS, digging through the code was a bit of a pain in the rear. Although Mambo makes for a good content management system, it’s not something I recommend for anyone looking to do some simple work.
I’ve just added my first “official” section, Bible Study. I figure that a lot of what I’ll be writing about is my journey through my faith, and frankly, that term will likely get me a few hits, which is good because if you look at the top and the bottom of the page, there are advertisements. That means I’m trying to earn some sort of income from this. Likely not much, (I wouldn’t bet my livelihood on it) but enough to make it worth my time for more than just its esoterical appeal. A guy’s gotta feed his family, right? Sure, it’s just my wife and I, but once in a while I have to — you know — feed her, water her, talk to her, etc.
At any rate, I’ll continue to add categories as I see fit. What I’d like to know is how to flatten the URLs to make them a bit more SEO friendly. (”=sectionid=4″ doesn’t scream to me of SEO friendliness.) If anyone cares to share the info, I’m all ears.
And of course, for the obligatory bit of ancient wisdom:
Invest what you have, because after a while you will get a return. Invest what you have in several different businesses, because you don’t know what disasters might happen. (Ecclesiastes 11:1-2)
Edit - July 11, 2005: The section’s name has been changed to “Theology.” It’s more accurate that way.
