Where are You From?

Topic(s): Gnorb.NET Updates.

A few days ago I added a little “Visitor Locations” tracker from Clustrmaps (you can see it at the bottom of the sidebar). Since then I’ve noticed that a LOT more international traffic than I ever imagined comes through this place. Sure, I knew people came from the US, Canada, and the UK, but I wouldn’t have guessed that readers came here from just about every other continent. Seriously, folks, this is… cool. My mind is boggling.

Now, I know what I’m about to say will sound self-aggrandizing, possibly even a bit snooty, but I’d like to make a request: I’d like to know where are you from. Now, I don’t want any personal information or anything, so please don’t leave your mailing address as I will use to send you a packet full of Anthrax, I’d just like to know whose from where, so if you read this note, could you be so kind as to drop a comment telling us (me and anyone else who read this note) where you’re from? Doesn’t matter whether you’re in Tampa or Timbuktu, Medellin or Manitoba, Chicago, Chennai, or Chelsea, I’d love for you say “hello!”

Note: No, I’m not whoring for comments, I swear. I’m just really… still amazed that people other than a few friends and my parents read this.

I’ll go first then… Hello from London - England :)

  2. My location is not as interesting, I am sure, compared to London ;-)

    Woo-hoo for Ithaca!

That’s in NY - home of Cornell University. ‘Cause I thought everyone knew about Ithaca, but apparently they don’t ;-)

  3. MALAYSIA!!
Am I your furthest visitor? LOL.
Haven’t been dropping by as often as I’d like to, but will definitely make the effort to :)

  4. Not to be spammy, but I created a website a year or so ago that demonstrates to art of geolocation. http://www.geogoog.com - it’s based on a free geolocation API from http://hostip.info and hones in using google maps.

  6. Hi there…. from rural Vermont.

  7. Antwerp, Belgium, Europe. But you knew that.

(Late comment I know, but I’m catching up. Moved you to Must-Reads in the hopes of mending that. Now if only you had a comment feed?)
