Weekend Notes
Topic(s): Life.Sunday morning. 1am. I’m still up because it’s been a strange couple of days. I was supposed to be in Tampa, and was planning to re-decorate the site (the sidebar is getting *way* too busy), but things happen. For now, here are a few bits I’ve been thinking about, some of which I’ll follow up on:
- I attended my first Diwali party on Friday. Cool celebration, lots of great Indian food, and The Wife wore a Sari for the first time. (She looked rather fine in it.) Junor came back from college and we had a few nice laughs. If you don’t know, Diwali celebrates the victory of light and knowledge over darkess and ignorance. Stayed up waaaay too late.
- Got my butt kicked by Mr. Renato this morning — at 7am, after just 4 hours of sleep. I may not be losing weight, but my cardio is doing much better. Must stop eating delicious Publix chocolate chocolate chunk ice cream.
- Got and carved the traditional Halloween pumpkin. After much consideration, we went with the regular “Jack-o-lantern” look with the triangle nose, eyes, and crooked mouth. Pics later. If you’re planning to do this or already have, check out the Bloompetals Jack-O-Lantern creator, which allows you to test out a few designs before you cut up your pumpkin.
- Note to self: Get Nightmare Before Christmas for The Wife.
Finally, I saw the following question posted on Fark and know that it’ll be bouncing around in my brain for a while: “If you could go back in time and tell your 12-year old self one thing, what would it be? (Difficulty, no stock tips.)”
With that, enjoy the rest of your weekend. If you’re bored, go outside. If you can’t (or don’t want to), play some Pacman online.
